In the latest gaming cross-overs, we have one of the biggest attempts yet: Capcom, Nippon Ichi, Namco, Gust, and Idea Factory throwing their characters into one boiling pot of mix-ups. We hope this is not a case of ‘too many cooks spoil the brew’, therefore we expect to wait for the reviews first.

In the name of shameless fan-service, Capcom has thrown in its Darkstalkers characters (Demitri, Morrigan, Jedah, Lilith, Felicia), whilst Nippon Ichi has thrown in Etna and the prinnies... Both set of characters involve at some high-ranking people of Makai (Underworld). It’s interesting to note that the title of Makai Overlord is apparently one of the most coveted job positions out there.

Q: Is there any kind of unique gameplay aspects outside of combat? Can you interact with party members for special scenes or other bonuses?
Nao: I must mention that the Costume Change system is one of the most unique gameplay aspects of the game. When you get different costumes, the characters will improve his or her overall attributes. And for the female characters, their looks will change accordingly, which is pretty cool. So, you can see Etna in a Japanese yukata, which you'd never see in the Disgaea series!

There are also a number of side stories and post-game bonus events, where you get to see "the other side" of different characters.

Other than the terrible English voice-overs, this is my other complaint. This game is obviously bias for the female characters! Why are there so many pictures available for the costume change for female characters but none for the male characters? (Although I kind of like the one of Etna in a prinny suit.) It will be more sensible to put more female characters in the team if they can get stats increase by changing their costumes.

Looking at the character line-up, there obviously is no lack of bishodens compared to the gals, so why no costume change? Also, I wanted to see a Prinny in a tuxedo! XD
