Once a upon a time, I was puzzled what this anime series 'Hetalia' was and why there are so many fans on Deviantart defending their favourite anime series. Dismissing it as another hot anime trend that I will probably pass over, I minded my own business.

Only during a certain art trade, I went to watch the thing. It was funny and I actually understood the jokes. For those who are not in the know, Hetalia is actually a series that personifies countries into human characters, and re-enact history or cultural differences in the anime. It is quite cute because it points out a lot of funny stuff, and you can tell the mangaka actually puts effort into his research.

Dynasty warriors, on the other hand, is a computer game series which re-enacts the novel 'Romance of the 3 kingdoms' in China, and is probably 70% based on true chinese history. I have been a fan of this one for quite a while. (Kids, don't count on your chinese teacher to tell you about this novel. Go read it up yourself because they will only tell you the boring bits in class! For starters, go check up on Zhuge Liang. Lotta interesting parts there. )

I think if Dynasty warriors fans and hetalia fans meet up, there's a large chance these 2 groups can get along:
1) Both series are largely based on history (World & Chinese history)
2) Ratio of male to female characters is very, very large.
3) Fanart/fanfic potential = a lot!
4) Every possible character kind available:
The hero, the skeptic, the kung-fu expert, the overly serious guy, the silly one, the cold and quiet dude, the mother figure, the cutie, the dude with the large evil laughter.
Whatever your favourite character is, there's a chance the series have a character to your liking.
5) Extremely ridiculeous scenarios to laugh your lungs out.

Maybe the fan base is mutually inclusive to begin with?
